Our Story

Who we are

Little Hands Big Hearts creates screen-free books and learning resources that help children learn through curiosity and conversation. The company was founded by two mothers who saw a gap in learning at home: most materials were designed for the classroom, and children found them repetitive.

We began in India, developing activity books, learning kits and conversation cards for families. Our first U.S. collection brings the same approach to a series of picture books that retell stories from Indian mythology.

Why these stories

The Ramayana and the stories behind Diwali, Dussehra and Dhanteras have been shared across generations. Many families want to pass them on, but most retellings for children are too long, too complex or too thin. Our books stay close to the original stories and are easy for young readers to follow.

What makes our books different

Each book retells one story from Indian mythology in simple, vivid language, with full-color illustrations on every page. Every book also includes mythology facts, the festival the story connects to, conversation prompts and a guide to pronouncing every name.

They're written for families sharing their heritage, and for families meeting these stories for the first time. You don't need to know the Ramayana to enjoy reading it together.

How we think about learning

Everything we make follows G.R.E.A.T. Learning: Growing by Reflecting, Exploring, Asking and Thinking. Children learn best when they're curious, so we build every book to start a conversation, not end one.

Read. Wonder. Talk.

Thank you for bringing our stories into your home.
